San Vicente de la Barquera is another place of interest to visit during your stay in Cantabria. This is a seafaring town where currently tourism is the main economic activity thanks to the area’s great natural beauty and heritage.
80% of the municipality belongs to the Oyambre Natural Park and enjoys special protection by the Cantabria autonomous community thanks to its extraordinary landscape and ecological value. Beaches, fishing port, meetings venues and historical buildings are all part of this town. The cultural interest sites to be visited are the Santa María de los Ángeles church, the former San Luis convent, the San Vicente de la Barquera Castle or Puebla Vieja. It is also part of the Ruta Lebaniega (Liébana Route), linking the coastal Saint James Way with the French Way.
