Bárcena Mayor The old balconies and cobbled streets of the ancient Bárcena Mayor township hold an eternal alliance with the Saja National Reserve.
This is a picturesque town that belongs to the municipality of Los Tojos, on the upper course of the Saja River, and it is the largest tourist attraction in the beautiful Valley of Cabuérniga.
On the banks of the Argoza River, Bárcena Mayor still retains its medieval charm. In the latter half of the last century the population slowly began to leave, however, the increase in rural tourism in recent years has helped in the improvement of the streets and refurbishment of the houses.
